OSTKREUZ, today’s most famous photographers' agency in Germany, was founded with the Magnum agency as a role model in East Germany shortly after the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1990. Today 20 photographers from East and West organize it, united by their humanistic worldview and documentary photography that is engaged. Maik Reichert’s film shines a spotlight on the otherwise very different photographers and their own working practices, portraying their joint passion of making images to picture our society.
