Wins at DOK.fest München
The DOK.fest München kinokino Audience Award, sponsored by 3sat and BR, with 82% of the votes went to ANOTHER REALITY by Noël Dernesch, Olli Waldhauer (Germany/Switzerland 2019) - what a great world premiere!
ANOTHER REALITY is a character-driven documentary which provides a real insight into the life in criminal gangs in Germany, meeting the young protagonists and letting them show us their dreams, their present and their future.
Congratulations also to Tuki Jencquel for winning the VIKTOR DOK.horizonte Award for ESTÁ TODO BIEN at DOK.fest München!
From the jury statement:
"In his cleverly constructed documentary film Tuki Jencquel recounts how the people in Venezuela are suffering from a shortage of medicines and a real exodus of doctors who are migrating abroad. Patients for whom the lack of medicinal supplies amounts to a death sentence; young doctors who have decided to stay against the odds; and despairing pharmacists whose shops stand empty are used as examples by the director to reveal what is seldom shown in news coverage on the subject."
