WE HOLD THE LINE wins @ CPH:DOX

WE HOLD THE LINE won the F:act Award competition at CPH:DOX in Copenhagen!
Congratulations to director Marc Wiese, producer Oliver Stoltz and the whole team and a great big thank you to the festival and the jury!

The festival had to move the whole program online. You can watch the wonderful Awards Show they put together here: vimeo.com/401401625

The F:act Award jury consisted of Israeli filmmaker Shosh Shlam, the Finnish film critic Marta Balaga and Danish director and journalist Nils Giversen.
The competition is dedicated to films in the field between documentary filmmaking, investigative journalism and activism and is presented in collaboration with the Danish Union of Journalists. The award is a cash prize of 5,000 euros.

The jury statement:

“The CPH:DOX F:act Award goes to the film depicting dark, troubling events in a skillful yet measured way, smartly focusing on just the right situations while employing a precise cinematic language. One that for all the portrayed hardships still manages to transform into a story about the unbreakable human spirit, providing the kind of narrative, and everyday heroes hell-bent on unearthing the truth, that we all desperately need right now. Making the voices of those fighting for the freedom of speech sound loud and clear, giving us hope for the future.”

The film will be available for Danish audiences to view at cphdox.dk/online until April 30.

Trailer for THE NEW BAUHAUS

Happy to announce the newly released trailer for THE NEW BAUHAUS - THE LIFE & LEGACY OF MOHOLY-NAGY by Alysa Nahmias.

As the production company Opendox write in their newsletter, László Moholy-Nagy can serve as inspiration in these trying times. He lived through two World Wars, the Great Depression and Nazi persecution, and he did it all with his signature relentless optimism intact.
He turned to his creativity when times were tough. While enlisted in the Hungarian army during World War I, he kept up his drawing skills by making hundreds of postcards that he sent to family and friends. During World War II he turned his School of Design in Chicago into design laboratory for the war effort. The students worked on everything from camouflage designs to wooden bed springs when steel was rationed. Even at the end of his short life, as his terminal leukemia went into remission, Moholy was incredibly productive creating some of his most enduring works.

The film has opened the Architecture Design Film Festival in New York City and has been traveling to Chicago FF and Palm Springs IFF and was scheduled for an EU premiere at the Copenhagen Architecture Film Festival in March which was now postponed unfortunately.
We'll keep you updated on any new screenings in the future.
